Jing Wu is an instructor of Chinese and a PhD student in the Department of East Asian Languages and Literatures in the College of Arts, Languages and Letters. She has taught Chinese courses for over 10 years, ranging from beginner to advanced levels, both in-person and synchronously online. In April 2022, she received the College of Arts, Languages and Letters award for 2022 Excellence in Teaching. Moreover, she has been serving as a Faculty Resident Director for the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa Semester and Summer in Shanghai Study Abroad programs since 2018, and as a Faculty/Instructor Evaluator for the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa Center for Teaching Excellence from 2019 to 2020. Her research interests encompass multimodal interactions in second/foreign language classrooms, second language assessment and evaluation, second language pedagogy, and more.
