I am an associate professor of Korean linguistics and also serve as director of the Korean Language Flagship Center at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. My primary research interests include Korean phonology and phonetics, second language acquisition, content-based instruction, teaching language and culture of Korea through Korean film. I am a recipient of the 2009 Board of Regents’ Medal for Excellence in Teaching at UHM.
